    Dining options at HS seems tough. Currently I have mama melrose booked because of the Fantasmic package. Going at a slow time in early Dec, is it that helpful to book Fantasmic res to get the preferred seating? Would I be better off at sci fi and skip pkg?

    While there really isn't a bad seat for Fantasmic, I actually always try to insure the best possible vantage point by booking a Fantasmic Dining Package.  You mentioned you were able to book Mama Melrose… well, that happens to be my number one choice!  I find the package offerings to be well portioned and always tasty!  If you like Italian food, you really can't go wrong and the atmosphere at Mama's is quite nice.

    If you are really looking for that wow factor… something super unique and original, then SciFi Dine in might just be your ticket as Mama Melrose, though delicious, is definitely more ordinary.  If you decide to switch to SciFi, you'll still be able to snag decent seats for Fantasmic, but just be sure to arrive 45 minutes to an hour early!  You can actually make your way down front near the preferred seating area if you arrive early enough!  The real draw to booking the package is the fact that you can arrive later and still have fabulous seats.
