Welcome to planDisney, Amy! We are happy to have you here as you plan your magical Walt Disney World vacation. And thank you for GIFTing us a great question!
It's a genius idea to have all your Disney dollars stockpiled on Disney gift cards! You absolutely can use the
Disney gift cards towards gratuities (so long as the restaurant accepts Disney gift cards). Most dining locations that are Disney owned and operated accept Disney gift cards. I did this on my most recent vacation a few days ago when we dined at
Ale and Compass Restaurant at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. I simply added the tip, and they applied that amount for gratuity to the gift card as well as the food and beverage charges. If you have questions, check out the
Where to Use section on the Disney Gift Card page for more information.
Since we're talking gift cards, did you know that you don't have to carry a wallet full of Disney gift cards? Simply combine your gift cards together onto one (up to $1000). You can establish one gift card as your "primary card" and then add the other gift card amounts to it. That's something even Scrooge McDuck would say is a brilliant plan!
Amy, planDisney is at your service and ready to be in CHARGE of your Disney planning questions. We’re always happy to SPEND lots of time chatting about Walt Disney World. Wishing you a fantastic vacation!
