How does the dining cards work and what is the cost for family of four?

    Welcome Patricia!

Will you be staying at the Walt Disney World Swan or Dolphin Hotels this summer? Or perhaps you have a reservation at a Disney Springs Resort Area Hotel or a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel. In any of these cases, you would have the option to purchase a Quick Service Dining Card for each member of your travel party. This is a hassle-free, cost-effective way to manage your dining budget during your upcoming vacation.

The Dining Card can be used to purchase snacks and meals at participating quick service restaurants and kiosks in the Disney theme parks, water parks, Resort hotels and Disney Springs. You have so many scrumptious choices.

If you'd like to add the Dining Card to your vacation package, you must do so no less than five days in advance of your arrival. With the current promotion, each adult receives a card loaded with the equivalent of $40 cash per day and each child (ages 3 to 9) is assigned a card worth $15 per day. Guests pay less than these dollar amounts when they purchase the plan so you are essentially purchasing your meals at a discount. (The example offered on the official Walt Disney World homepage suggests that a family of four with three adults and one child purchasing a five-day Dining Card would pay $587.50 for cards that would allow them to purchase $675 worth of quick service meals and snacks. Please keep in mind that this promotion may change so, if you are interested, you should probably purchase your Dining Cards soon.)

Let us know if you need suggestions for the best quick service restaurants to visit with your Dining Card. My friends and I here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to discuss dining options at Walt Disney World Resort.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
