Fantasmic

My dining booking window opens this week. I have been keeping an eye on the reservations that we want to make. One thing that is confusing me is that the Sci-Fi Diner never appears as an option in the Fantasmic dining packages? Has it been removed?

Welcome back to planDisney, Natalie Clare!

Oooh! Your Advance Dining Reservation booking window countdown is almost complete. To me, planning our Walt Disney World Resort vacation is half the fun, so I love it when these important dates come around. Your trip will be here before you know it.

My family adores the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. Although the kids have been a few times, they watched a video showcasing the restaurant prior to our December visit and made it a priority for our trip. There is something just so fun about dining there and the servers are hilarious. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is still a participating restaurant for the Fantasmic! Dining Package. I played around with a few dates and different party sizes, prior to answering this question, and was able to find some openings just to make sure. The restaurant is very popular and reservations book up quickly, so combined with the Fantasmic! Dining Package, it's a tough reservation to snag. Don't give up though! Check when your window opens and if it isn't available, be sure to keep an eye out as sometimes I find reservations the day or two before we visit.

As a backup, the 50's Prime Time Café is also a fun dining experience. It's a blast from America's past with good ol' fashioned comfort food. If budget allows, however, my favorite is The Hollywood Brown Derby. I brought my sister there for her first time last October and it was just as incredible as I remembered. The Our Famous Cobb Salad with the fresh warm dinner rolls is just so amazing. It's light, and refreshing and will leave you with just enough room to still enjoy a slice of the Grapefruit Cake--also light, refreshing and delicious! Yum!

Have a wonderful time planning your visit, Natalie Clare. Please come see us again with any other planning questions you may have.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
