Hi! we have a diner reservation at Sebastian's for December 31st at 9 pm. Can we stay at the resort to watch de Epcot NYE fireworks? I have a 3 year old daughter and I know she won't be comfortable with a large crowd at the parks. Thank you!

Hi Gabriela! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sending in such a thoughtful question. I love that you're planning something special for New Year's Eve and also taking your little one's comfort into account. That's exactly the kind of balance that makes a Disney trip so memorable! A cozy dinner at Sebastian's Bistro sounds absolutely wonderful, and I'm happy to help you picture what your evening might look like at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort that night.

You'll be glad to know that you are more than welcome to remain at the resort after your dinner reservation to enjoy the vibes and even catch glimpses of EPCOT's New Year’s Eve fireworks from select outdoor areas. However, there are a few important details to keep in mind as you plan your evening.

First, while you can absolutely linger around the resort after dining, Guests are not permitted to stay inside the restaurant until midnight. Once you've finished your meal, you'll be kindly expected to exit Sebastian's Bistro to make space for other diners and for the restaurant’s closing procedures.

Secondly, the fireworks view from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is quite limited. I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who confirmed that only some of the higher bursts are visible from around the resort, and the accompanying music is not guaranteed to be piped in throughout the hotel. Some areas might play it, but it's not consistent across the hotel. So while you'll catch flashes of color lighting up the sky, the full show experience will be missing a bit of its magic from that distance.

Finally, even though the resort will be far less crowded than EPCOT itself, it's still a popular choice for Guests with little ones or those avoiding the park crowds, so expect a lively atmosphere and some company around the common areas.

If you're looking for a truly special way to celebrate with your family, you might want to consider the New Year's Eve offerings at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort instead. Both offer breathtaking views of Magic Kingdom's midnight fireworks and guaranteed music synchronization, creating that perfect, heartwarming Disney sendoff to the year.

Whatever you choose, I know your evening will be full of magic, joy, and pixie-dusted memories to start the new year in the most wonderful way.
