Jambo, Neisha and thanks for trekking over to planDisney with your question!
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resort destinations! Being able to walk only a few steps to enjoy the animals morning, noon and night is a true luxury and I hope you soak up every WILD second!
Neisha, let’s talk about room options and configurations. Unfortunately, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge no longer offers rooms with a daybed. The only room type that did list 1 daybed with 1 king bed is an
accessible room. I spoke with
disability services and they let me know that the daybed in this room has been switched over to a pull-out couch. The choices for
standard rooms are either 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed. There are also suite options that offer a sleeper sofa. Over at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village and Jambo House, you’ll also see the option of sleeper sofa or a sleeper chair (which is the size of a twin bed).
Neisha, in your question if you were referring to the flip-down bed like the ones found at Disney’s Riviera Resort or in the newly refurbished rooms at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, those single sleepers measure 32” wide and 75” long (slightly smaller than a standard twin size mattress) and according to the manufacturer are rated up to 300 lbs.
I hope this information helps as you’re looking toward your upcoming visit. Based on this information if you need additional recommendations or have other questions, please come on back to planDisney where we love to help guests build vacations right out of a Fairy tale.
