What are the dimensions of the decks at Ft. Wilderness? We would like to put up a gazebo for shade and don’t want to buy one that is too big.

Howdy, Nora, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let's head out for an adventure in the wilderness at the Walt Disney World Resort!

I absolutely love the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! Each cute little cabin is nestled among the trees, with its own private deck and picnic table that makes for a truly tranquil outdoor space. Sitting outside with a cup of coffee as "the Fort" awakens can almost make you forget you're at Walt Disney World.

While I've spent many a day and night on one of those decks, Nora, I've never had occasion to measure them, so I gave a quick call to Guest Relations to get you the information you need. The Cast Member I spoke with told me that the decks can have different dimensions depending on how the cabin is situated, whether it has a wheelchair accessibility ramp, etc. She did say that a canopy of 10' x 10' would be fine for any of them.

Nora, while you're staying at Fort Wilderness, it's a perfect time to check out the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! It's such a popular show, and the convenience of being able to tool on over to Pioneer Hall from your cabin makes it an easy must-do at the Fort for us!

I hope this helps you plan a magical stay in the wilderness, Nora, and thanks for this great question. I'll be bringing along my tape measure on our next stay, that's for sure!

Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions, and have a fantastic time at the Fort!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
