It is so exciting to hear that your big vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth is just a few hours away! Thank you for stopping by with your question about redeeming your digital Disney gift card. I will be happy to walk you through your options.
When you have a digital gift card, the easiest way to access it would be by adding it to your virtual wallet. This can be either through an Apple Wallet or a Google Wallet account. Typically, when you tap on your virtual card to open it, you should see a bar code somewhere on it. Around that bar code or below, you should see an option to "Add to your (Apple or Google) Wallet account". Once you do you should be able to see it there. This makes it a bit easier to access during your time in the parks.
When you go to pay for anything during your stay, you can simply bring this up to the Cast Members and they should be able to scan your bar code and have some or all of the gift card applied to your purchase. You can also use this for
Mobile Food Ordering or paying for merchandise in some locations via
Merchandise Mobile Checkout. As you are moving through the steps of either process, you will come to the Payments Page. There, you can either apply the payment method you have as a default or select another option. I have an Android device and with Google Wallet, I have to copy and paste the card number into the
My Disney Experience app every time. I am unable to save the card to My Disney Experience app and go through this process each time. Minor inconvenience but it is super easy to pay for so many things with a virtual card.
At minimum, you might have gotten an email with the virtual gift card which you can save or star on your email app and you should be able to easily access this when paying for items. There is usually a bar code or number associated with it that the Cast Members will be able to scan or type in for access to the card during your trip.
