Is it difficult and not practical to rope drop Animal Kingdom then have breakfast at Boma and go back to the park and rides?

Jambo, Allison! Welcome to planDisney! This is a great question, and I’m so happy you stopped by. You have a wild adventure in mind for your morning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, but I do not think this is impractical or difficult at all!

I just checked the park hours, and it looks like Animal Kingdom opens at 8 a.m. every day the week you’ll be there, unless you are eligible for Early Theme Park Entry at 7:30 a.m. With this in mind, I would recommend making a dining reservation for around 10 a.m. at Boma - Flavors of Africa. This will give you plenty of time for rope drop, a ride (or maybe even two!), and then time to catch a bus over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge without any extra stress about arriving on time. The bus ride is short and less than 10 minutes, but you’ll want to factor in extra time for walking out to the bus stop and potentially needing to wait for a bus to arrive. Buses usually arrive at least every 20 minutes, but they often arrive even faster. Building in that little buffer with the 10 a.m. reservation will keep your morning calm instead of rushed. By the way, Boma is one of my family’s favorite restaurants in all of the Walt Disney World Resort, so you’ve made a great choice!

Once you’re back at Animal Kingdom Theme Park, be sure to hop over to see Nick and Judy in Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, a new 4D show that recently opened in the Tree of Life! When you’re ready for your next meal, Satu'li Canteen is a can’t miss quick service dining location. Their bowls are the stuff my Disney foodie dreams are made of!

Allison, be adventurous and go for it on rope drop and breakfast at Boma and feel hakuna matata! If you have any more questions, stop back by and see me. I’d be happy to help and love adding extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning.

As they say in Swahili, kwaherini, which means, “goodbye” and “go well!” Wishing you a magical adventure that begins with sunrise over the savanna!
