Hi Sampath, Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
This is a great question as there is no worse way to start any day than being stuck in traffic, or having to duke it out for a parking spot. However,
Walt Disney World Resort is a very well oiled machine and they have parking down to a science. The simple answer is 'Not hard at all!'
To walk you through it a bit more, from an hour or so before each theme park's opening until the early afternoon, each Disney Theme Park has an entire team of
Parking Lot Cast Members directing vehicles where to go. This early in the day you'll mainly play "follow the leader" and will end up parked next to both the car you followed in as well as the car following you. For the first part of your drive, you'll be on a well marked path usually flanked by orange traffic cones. Then, when you get to the section of spaces that are actively accepting cars for parking, one (or more!) Cast Members will direct you to a specific row, and then another Cast Member will point you to an exact parking spot. And If you happen to be the lead car parking in the front of a parking space, there will even be a third Cast Member standing at the front signaling how much further you should pull up.
In my experience, these crews have usually "Heigh Ho'ed" themselves home by mid-afternoon, and at that point it is up to each individual guest to find their own parking spot. However, this may actually work to your favor if you plan on arriving later as lots of other guests do leave mid-day to park hop or go take a nap, leaving some pretty primo places open.
Pro Tip: Even if you end up pretty far in the back of a lot, Mickey has thought of that and has a team of Parking Lot Trams that will pick up and drop off at every section. And word of warning, if you're traveling with little ones, this just might be their favorite attraction of the day. It certainly is for my son, and should that happen for your family, you may want to pick up this
Disney Parks Parking Lot Tram Die Cast Vehicle. It'll be a favorite souvenEAR for sure!
Thank you again for your question, Sampath, and We'll See You Real Soon!
