Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Deborah! Walt Disney World Resort Transportation has always been swift and pleasant for me and my family. You’ll love the answer I’ve got for you covering scooters and various mode of transport!
Electric Scooters and other types of wheelchairs are accepted on nearly all forms of Walt Disney World Resort Transportation.
Monorails and all
buses accept scooters. You’ll simply need to arrive at the your chosen bus stop and park in the handicapped spot. The drivers typically load these scooters in good time onto the bus with your family and can take you to your destination Larger boats and vessels like the TTC ferry and larger transportation boats (those from Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Fort Wilderness, etc. can also accept these chairs and passengers. The very small dinghys, like those going from Disney’s Contemporary Resort to
Disney’s Fort Wilderness are a bit too small to carry these chairs, but there are other modes of transportation available, including the new
Minnie Vans. These vans can be hired for a fee using your LYFT app, and a concierge can assist you in calling an accessible van to carry the scooter as well. It may take a few extra minutes for this van to arrive, so try to plan accordingly. I think the longest I’ve ever waited for a Minnie Van was 9 minutes.
I hope you have a relaxing and magical vacation. If there is anything else I can do to help you get around in polka dotted style, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
