Hi William,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for visiting us today with this question about the difference between
Disney's PhotoPass Service and
Memory Maker.
Disney's PhotoPass Service is the system used at
Walt Disney World Resort to take your pictures in the theme parks, on certain attractions and at some Character Dining locations. Memory Maker allows you to download all of those photos and videos for one price! If you purchase Memory Maker, you will have the rights to use your photos in any way that you'd like, including printing them from any service that you choose. You will also get stock photos that are great for scrapbooks as well as on-ride videos and animated Magic shots that are only available to Memory Maker purchasers.
I have to tell you that I am a huge fan of Memory Maker! It truly allows us to leave the camera behind when we are on vacation. My family particularly loves the photos and videos that only the magic of Disney can deliver, like a slow-motion video of all of us on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! We enjoy watching the videos and looking at the photos after our vacations; it allows us to relive the magical moments all over again!
In terms of the cost, Memory Maker is currently $149 if you purchase it at least three days in advance of your vacation and $169 if you purchase when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.
Tip: Keep in mind that your PhotoPass photos and videos expire 45 days from the date they are taken. Be sure to download them before they expire.
I hope I've answered your question, William. Stop back and see us again real soon!
Wishing you magical memories!
Erin
