Ivan from Puerto Rico Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Hi, is there any different activity to do at night at Animal Kingdom since River of Light is not open? Is there a different version of Kilimanjaro Safaris at night? Thank you for your help!

    Hey, Ivan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Oh, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is alive with nightly entertainment and daytime attractions that become more adventuresome in the dark.

Currently, there is no evening spectacular at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park since The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic closed. Rivers of Lights is still preparing for future release and it will be amazing. Don't miss the Tree of Life Awakenings and make sure to rock and dance at the Discovery Island Carnivale. These Islanders know how to party!

All the daytime attractions are the same at night but they seem completely different. Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is more thrilling in the darkness as you flee from the Yeti. Kali River Rapids is a fast ride through the darkness as you anticipate the next splash and drop. Kilimanjaro Safaris seems to be a slower journey as your tour guide points out the animals at their most active.

Disney Dad Tip: If you can ride the Kilimanjaro Safari at dusk you will have the best view of the animals.

Ivan, enjoy making many Magical Memories at Walt Disney World Resort!
