Does it make a difference going the week of spring break 4/22-4/26 or the following week 4/29-5/2?

    Hello again Sarita!

Welcome back to planDisney! I just returned from a trip during a holiday week and learned that when school is out the crowds will come. However, my family and I still had a wonderful time. I have found that no matter what time you visit you can find a way for it to be a magical and fun experience.

Choosing between April 22 to April 26 and April 29 and May 2 is based on various factors. Financially, I found that the weeks look to be very similarly priced.  I looked up the prices for staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and found that the second week could be a little bit cheaper. I also found that the theme park tickets are priced approximately $2 less the second week. Prices are subject to change but it tells me that even Walt Disney World Resort feels that the second week may be a bit less crowded but not by much. Usually during peak periods, prices are higher.  However, if the first week works better for your family's schedule then that week is going to be great. My research has also found that there is a runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend going on from April 18 to 21, 2024 which is a marathon weekend. That can lead to some crowd surges that should subside by the time you arrive for either date. In addition, I did find some events occurring at ESPN Wide World of Sports including various cheerleading and dance competitions occurring during the April 24 to 29th period. The young people who participate in these events look like they are staying at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort so I would avoid booking these resorts for your stay. Did you know that there is currently a special offer applicable during your stay for guests who want to stay 5 nights or longer? This deal could be perfect for your trip!

You will also have a chance to enjoy during either week the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. This is my favorite festival and I always try to visit every year for even a few days. I love the gorgeous topiaries and how beautiful EPCOT becomes. I sometimes time my visit so that I can enjoy certain musicians or bands during the Garden Rocks Concert Series and maybe that could help in your decision making.

No matter which week you end up choosing, I would consider purchasing Disney Genie+ for the days you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT if it is on a weekend at minimum. On my most recent trip, I found that Disney Genie+ allowed me to enter the Parks later in the day as I had booked Lightning Lanes for the time I would eventually arrive. It gave my kids some needed rest in the morning after some late nights and helped us avoid long waits in lines. Disney Genie+ is purchased on the My Disney Experience Mobile App after midnight on the day of your Park visit and you can make your first selection at 7 AM. During this past trip, I experienced huge crowd levels that made wait times for many attractions exceed over 40 minutes all day and with Disney Genie+ I waited an average of 15 minutes. It was so helpful!

I hope this helps! Happy Planning!
