What is the difference between tier one and tier two?

Hi, Janis, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for stopping by to see us with this great question!

When you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, one of the most helpful tools available is FastPass+, which allows you to reserve a time for select rides and attractions in the Theme Parks without having to wait in the standby line. FastPass+ really helps you maximize your Park time by minimizing your wait times.

You can reserve up to three FastPass+ attractions per day in advance. As you begin making your FastPass+ selections, you'll notice that attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, and Epcot are categorized into two tiers. You may choose one attraction for FastPass+ from Tier 1 and two from Tier 2.

Let me show you how it works with an example using the current tiers for the attractions at Epcot.

Tier 1: Frozen Ever After; IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth; Meet Disney Pals at the Epcot Character Spot; Soarin' Around the World. One of your FastPass+ selections may be from this group.

Tier 2: Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival; Journey Into Imagination With Figment; Living with the Land; Mission: SPACE; The Seas with Nemo & Friends; Spaceship Earth; Turtle Talk With Crush. Your two remaining selections are from this group.

Here's a little more information on using Disney's FastPass+ service.

I hope this helps as you're making your vacation plans, Janis. If you still have questions, please do come back and see us again. I know it can be a little confusing when you're just starting to plan, but we're always here to help!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
