Robert from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

What's the difference between standard and preferred rooms? Why have I not gotten a email response from disney in over 72 hours?

    Welcome to planDisney Robert!

I apologize for the delay in a response to your email. Hopefully I can help out with your question! Our team here at planDisney wants every aspect of your vacation to be "practically perfect in every way!"

Each Disney Resort will have different room options depending on the property. It sounds like your resort choice offers Standard or Preferred Rooms. When this is your option, it is based on location. Preferred Rooms are generally closer to the lobby, food court, and transportation. Standard Rooms will be identical in size and amenities but will be a bit longer walk to the main areas.

Other resorts may offer options such as water views, pool views, family suites, or room style such as Pirate Rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort or Royal Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. As you research each resort you will see all the unique offerings available at the 20+ Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Again, sorry for any delays in communication. Please feel free to reach out again if we can be of assistance.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
