Hi Terri! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in my opinion is a wonderful show and dining opportunity. When I last experienced this I truly had a wonderful time. Now I have never been to an authentic Luau but this is just how I imagined it to be. There was delicious food, fun entertainment, hula dancers, and even fire dancers!
I will admit that when I experienced this show I sat in the Category 1 seating. Seats were located on the lower level and I was right in the center very close to the stage. I felt like I was right in the middle of the action and I didn’t have an obstructed view. Category 2 seating offers seating either on the left or right side of the stage on the lower level OR there are tables on the upper level that are located behind the Category 1 seating. Here you still will get a great view you just will be a bit farther from the stage. Category 3 seating includes tables on both the bottom and top levels however on the bottom level the tables are located to the extreme far right of the stage, and on the upper level are located on each side of the Category 2 seats. You still will be able to enjoy the show and have a pretty good view.
If I had to choose I would choose to sit in Category 1 seating for the simple fact that I really felt like I was part of the show. I loved being close to the performers and the stage. It really made it feel authentic for me. I don’t think however that any of the Categories would offer you anything less than an excellent view!
I hope that I have helped to answer your question! Have a magical time!
