What's the difference between season pass and magic key?

    Hey Tobi!

    Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like you're wanting to visit the Happiest Place on Earth more frequently! You may have heard the term season pass when people talk about their pass that allows them to visit the parks more often. A season pass typically runs for the season or the current year and expires December 31st no matter when you purchase it. This is not something that the Disneyland Resort currently offers for Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Even in the past, the Disneyland Resort offered an Annual Pass which gave you a full year of visits and expired one year after purchase.

The Magic Key program is the only pass offered at this time and is very similar to the old Annual Pass system. You’ll get a full year of reservation based admission to Disneyland Park along with discounts on select food and merchandise, exclusive access to the Magic Key Terrace and much more. Depending on the level of pass, you’ll get more access to more reservations days and discounts or complimentary theme park parking. Each pass allows you to hold a certain amount of theme park reservations at one time so you’ll want to take that into consideration as well. All of the choices are currently unavailable for new purchases but take a look to see what would work best for you so that when sales reopen you are good to go.

Well Tobi, if you have any more questions for us please come back and let us know.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
