What is the difference between San Angel Inn and La Hacienda de San Angel in Epcot?

    Hello Russell,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question that is near and dear to my heart: Disney Dining!

Although San Angel Inn Restaurante and La Hacienda de San Angel are both located in Mexico at Epcot’s World Showcase and both serve Mexican-inspired cuisine, the similarities end there. San Angel Inn Restaurante is located inside the Plaza de los Amigos. It has an undeniably romantic setting, with perpetual twilight and its location at the base of Mayan ruins that mark the beginning of the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. It’s a restaurant with a really unique atmosphere which makes it worth a visit at least once.

That being said, my family and I believe that La Hacienda de San Angel has a slight edge in terms of its food, especially it’s amazing (and creative) margarita list. Although I find it looks like a (admittedly, very pretty) regular restaurant inside, its big advantage are the huge windows that overlook World Showcase Lagoon. If you time your reservation right, you might even be able to watch Illuminations: Reflections of Earth from your table. For all of those reasons, my family tends to pick La Hacienda de San Angel rather than San Angel Inn Restaurante if we want to feast on Mexican cuisine during our visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Have fun planning your trip and please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,
