Hi, Lisa!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this great question about the difference between
Memory Maker and
Disney PhotoPass Service.
Disney PhotoPass Service is the system used at
Walt Disney World Resort to take your pictures in the theme parks, on certain attractions and at some Character Dining locations. Memory Maker allows you to download all of those photos and videos for one price. If you purchase Memory Maker, you will have the rights to use your photos in any way that you'd like, including printing them from any service that you choose. In addition, you will also get on-ride videos and animated Magic shots that are only available to Memory Maker purchasers.
I've found that Memory Maker adds a lot of value to our Walt Disney World Resort vacations and allows us to leave our camera behind. Our family loves the photos and videos that only the magic of Disney can deliver, like a slow-motion video of all of us on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or a photo of our family with Olaf! When we look back through those photos and videos, we get a chance to relive some of our magical memories.
Quick tips: You can save some money on Memory Maker by purchasing it in advance of your trip. Also, be sure to note that your PhotoPass photos and videos expire 45 days from the date they are taken, so you will want to download them before they expire.
I hope this answers your question, Lisa. Please stop back with any additional questions about your upcoming trip. Wishing you many magical memories!
Erin
