    What is the difference between the Magic Bands and the Magic Bands 2?

    Hello, Gracie! MagicBands are a fun part of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There are so many fun designs and themes available!

    The difference between the original version and MagicBand 2 can be summed up as style and functionality! The biggest change is that the Mickey icon (or puck), that serves as the centerpiece of the band, is removable from MagicBand 2. This allows Guests to keep the puck in a location other than around their wrist. Also, the original bands had a more linear look while MagicBand 2 has enlarged the area around the Mickey icon.

    The technology is also newer than that of the original. The part of  the band housing the technology isn't as thick as the original bands. This makes MagicBand 2 easier (and faster) to be "read" when scanning your band at a touchpoint!

    Gracie, Guests of the Walt Disney World Resort can now capture all of the features of their MagicBand on their mobile device! The new Disney MagicMobile Service is available in a Guest's My Disney Experience account. This new technology allows for a contactless experience while still accessing many of the same features of a MagicBand!
