what is the difference between lock off villa and standard

    Hey Kanagawa!

    Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

Being a Disney Vacation Club Member comes with many perks and benefits! One of the best things about being a member is all of the wonderful choices in rooms accommodations available to you! From Tower Studios that sleep 2 guests to 3-Bedroom Grand Villas that sleep 12, you’re sure to find the perfect accommodations for your family vacation.

It sounds like you might be trying to book a 2-Bedroom Villa. You have the option of booking a 2-Bedroom Lock-Off Villa. When booking a 2-Bedroom Lock-Off Villa, it is essentially a Deluxe Studio Villa and 1-Bedroom Villa with a connecting door. You will also have two entrances into the 2 bedroom which could be a positive or a negative depending on the members of your traveling party. In the case of the Lock-Off, the 2nd bedroom is the Deluxe Studio Villa so it has a queen bed and a sofa sleeper instead of 2 queen beds. It also has a kitchenette. Depending on where you book a Lock-Off, it may sleep an additional person. For example if you book a Lock-Off at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Riviera Resort, you will be allowed 10 guests in the room instead of 8-9 guests in other 2-Bedroom Villas.

Personally I prefer the standard 2-Bedroom Villa because we have small children and because it has 2 queen beds in the second bedroom. Some of them also have a big closet in that second bedroom which is nice to have to store all of our suitcases and souvenirs!

Well Kanagawa, I hope this helps you choose which option is the best for your family.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
