Greetings, Morgan, and welcome to planDisney!
Lightning Lane passes are a great way to make the most of your time at the parks. With them, you can access the Lightning Lane entrance at select attractions, which leads to a typically shorter line. I'm happy to provide information about your options so you can continue planning the most magical visit.
The
Lightning Lane Multi Pass can typically be added to theme park tickets in advance, or it can be purchased once you scan into the park, subject to availability. It includes access to the Lightning Lane entrance
at a number of popular attractions, including Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Soarin’ Around the World, Incredicoaster, and others. You'll use the
Disneyland mobile app to make your first multi pass selection after entering the park, and then head to the Lightning Lane entrance of that attraction during the arrival window. Right after you’ve redeemed a selection (or two hours since you've made a selection), you can book your next multi pass attraction. Each attraction may be booked once. Keep in mind, Morgan, that some popular attractions are more likely to have later return windows than others, especially as the day progresses. I recommend prioritizing Indiana Jones Adventure and Space Mountain in Disneyland, and Guardians of the Galaxy and Toy Story Midway Mania in California Adventure.
The
Lightning Lane Single Pass similarly provides access to a shorter queue, but can be purchased separately for select attractions that are not included in the multi pass. That currently includes Radiator Springs Racers and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Once you're in the park, you can purchase a single pass for one or both of these attractions through the app for the next available arrival window.
Morgan, there is another option, called the
Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which is currently in a pilot rollout with very limited quantities available. It includes Lightning Lane access to both multi pass and single pass attractions, and has the added benefit that you don't need to select return windows. With this pass, you can visit each eligible attraction once at the time of your choice on the day you visit. It can be purchased via the Disneyland mobile app up to seven days in advance.
Did you know both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and the Lightning Lane Premier Pass include unlimited downloads of
Disney PhotoPass digital photos all day? I love this benefit because it's a convenient and fun way to get wonderful family (and solo) photos. Photographers are ready at the PhotoPass locations to capture beautiful memories for you.
I hope this helps sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your planning, Morgan! If you have any more questions, we’re always here to help at planDisney.
Your pal,
Kriss
