Hi Danelle,
Both the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ are great choices, either one you choose, I'm sure you will be completely satisfied with your choice.
Mickey's Backyard BBQ is located at the Fort Wilderness Pavillion within Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This dining experience is an all you care to eat BBQ buffet where there is live entertainment such as a Country and Western Band, rope tricks, line dancing and much more. Mickey and his friends do make appearances, and even dance with the kids! My family enjoys this dining experience because you are not confined to your seat throughout the evening, you (and more importantly) the kids are encouraged to get up, mingle and dance the evening away!
On the other hand, the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is located in Pioneer Hall also at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This dinner show is an all you care to eat American favourite meal served family style. The dinner show consists of skits, songs and jokes and is performed by the Pioneer Hall Players. My daughter thinks Six Bits Slocum is absolutely hilarious!
I would take into account your son's preferences, before making a decision. If your boys would appreciate the silly Vaudeville style humor, that I would suggest the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. If your boys would really get into the down home feel of an outdoor BBQ where they can mingle with others, I would recommend Mickey's Backyard BBQ. No matter which you choose, I'm sure you will have a fantastic time!
Please let me know if you have any other questions Danelle, I would be happy to help.
Stephanie
