What is the difference between getting a fast pass for a ride and a virtual boarding pass? If all virtual boarding passes are gone, are you not able to get in line for a ride?

    Hello, Angela!

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks so much for asking us this question--it's a great one!

When Guests visit Walt Disney World, they can enjoy many complimentary perks that other locations simply do not offer. For example, FastPass+ is a fantastic--and free--system that enables Guests to skip the regular lines at up to 3 select attractions and entertainment offerings in one park each day. Using your My Disney Experience account or the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can select FastPass+ options up to 30 days prior to arrival--60 days, if you are staying in select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Once you have used the initial 3 FastPass+ reservations, you may add another one in any park that day. Once that 4th one is used, you may make a 5th, and so on. What a great way to spend more time enjoying attractions and entertainment and less time waiting in no extra charge!

Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the addition of the out of this world Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, an All-New Land has given Guests a glimpse of some fan favorite characters, ships, artifacts, and settings. At the time of this writing, Guests can secure a FastPass+ reservation for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Currently, however, to experience the jaw-dropping Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Guests must join a Boarding Group. Unlike FastPass+, to join a Boarding Group, Guests must have activated their Theme Park Ticket by entering Disney's Hollywood Studios, enabling the system to recognize that they are indeed, eligible to join.

Guests have been so excited to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance that they have been arriving well before Park Open (yours truly included), hoping that The Force is with them as they try to get into one of those precious Boarding Groups. At this time, there are no standby lines for this attraction, and it is not included as an option for FastPass+.

As you plan your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Angela, be sure to send us more questions. We are always happy to help!
