Hi Alyson!
It sounds like you are preparing for a great Fort Wilderness vacation at Walt Disney World. To me it is a hidden secret of peace and tranquility and it is a place my husband and I love to stay every year.
There are actually four categories of
Fort Wilderness Sites. They have several loops dedicated to the tents and small pop up trailers. On the other end of the spectrum they have Premium loops which accommodate the largest RV's on full concrete pads. The other two loops are similar in most ways and amenities but their size. The Full Hook-up sites will be slightly longer with sites that are basically more private. The Preferred sites were the original loops made when the park opened. The sites are shorter but they are also somewhat closer to the marina and Pioneer Hall.
Personally, I prefer the Full Hook Up sites over the Preferred as they seem to have more room between sites and it feels more private. Every loop is connected with the internal bus system so getting around is very easy. Sidewalks also connect every aspect of the resort for those who wish to walk or ride bikes between areas.
All of the loops will have water, sewer, cable, and electric. The preferred and Full Hook Up loops will have concrete pads with a small section of sand in case guests wish to erect tents or canopy enclosures. The Premium sites will have all concrete pads and no sand. There is also a small difference in the picnic tables. Stronger tables can be found at the Premium sites while other sites will have typical but adequate tables.
Hope this helps you make a decision on what best suits you and your vehicle for your next Disney "glamping" vacation!
