What is the difference between FASTPASS and MAXPASS

Hey howdy hey, Linda, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you hEAR!

There’s a lot of information to sort through as you plan your Disneyland Resort vacation, so I’d be happy to explain the difference between Disney FASTPASS Service and Disney MaxPass. We’ll start with Disney MaxPass, which is my favorite way to maximize the time you spend in the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort! There are two important benefits that come along with it – first, you can use it to make digital Disney FASTPASS selections from the convenience of your mobile device as soon as you pass through the turnstiles at either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. If you happen to have a Park Hopper Ticket, you can even make a selection for one park while you’re still inside the other! So, by adding MaxPass to your park ticket, you’ll have the extra advantage of making FASTPASS selections without having to walk up to each attraction. If you choose not to add MaxPass, you can still make complimentary FASTPASS selections on select attractions by walking up to each FASTPASS distribution point.

The second benefit of MaxPass is enjoying unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass pictures, which is a great way to preserve all of your favorite vacation memories! Even if you decide not to add MaxPass to the ticket of each Guest in your group, it may be worth it to add MaxPass to just one ticket in order to receive the PhotoPass benefit.

You can add MaxPass to your online ticket purchase, or you can add it to your ticket on a daily basis after entering either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Adding MaxPass to your ticket is a simple process – start by downloading the Disneyland app, then select the “+” at the bottom of the screen, then choose “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass.” Once you’ve entered Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, you can make your first FASTPASS selection.

I hope this helps. If you have additional questions about MaxPass or FASTPASS, or anything else, please stop by… I’m all EARs!

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 8, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
