What's the difference between dinner buffets at Whispering Canyon at the WL & Trail's End at Ft Wilderness? I can't decide which is better? Any opinions moms & dad? Can you give me the run down on both? Thanks a bunch!

    Hi Jennifer,

The Whispering Canyon Cafe is very different from the Trail's End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness.  The Whispering Canyon Cafe is not a buffet.  The food is similar to chain BBQ restaurants.  They do have one entree on the menu which is called the Canyon Skillet.  This is one big plate (skillet)  with a sampling of different entrees.  You get a few shrimp, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, etc.  If you finish one item and want more you can ask your waiter.  There are also many other entrees to choose from if you don't want the skillet.  Something we enjoyed were the all you can drink milkshakes that come in a dozen flavors.  There is also a lot of silliness from the wait staff and different interactive activities for the kids.  Its very fun.

The Trail's End Buffet is a very traditional buffet, without characters.  Adults pay one price and children pay another.  When I was there last the buffet line had offerings like fried chicken, peel and eat shrimp, corn on the cob, pizza, mac and cheese, etc.

Trail's End is great because it is one of the least expensive places to dine in WDW.

However, I would recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe.  The food is better and the atmosphere is great.  My friend Karly (13), recommended it to us last year.  She said that dinner there was her favorite part of her entire trip to WDW.  With such a strong recommendation, we had to try to for ourselves.  We were very happy we did, we too had a great time.
