Hi Joselyne!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you so much for bringing your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR! Oh, you are going to love visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth with your
Mouseketeers. I first brought my own mini Mickey at the age of 15 months, so I know all too well what you're thinking right now.
I see that you'll be staying at
Disney's All-Star Music Resort during your visit to Mickey's house! When booking a room at a Disney Resort Hotel, guests are usually presented with the options of a standard-location room with a standard view, a standard-location room with an upgraded view, a room in a preferred-location building with a standard view, or a room in a preferred-location building with an upgraded view. In the case of Disney's All-Star Music Resort, the Calypso Section offers only preferred-location rooms in two types of views. I'm
linking a map of this hotel so you can get a visual idea, and if you zoom in all the way, the preferred-location rooms fall within the two T-shaped buildings on the north and south side of the guitar shaped pool.
Personally, I think any room in this building would be perfect for you, no matter the view. These rooms are already in the closest guest building at this resort as you can get to the main building, which is where you'll find everything from guest services to dining to the complimentary
Disney Resort Bus Transportation stop that will take you to Disney's Theme Parks. But also, the elevator banks in these buildings are located in the dead center of the T-shape, so really the walk between the main building to the elevator and then the elevator to the rooms located on any of the three "arms" of this building are pretty equidistant. Having said that, to really ensure ease of getting in and out, request a room on the ground floor so you don't have to worry about using the elevator at all.
Bonus Tip: Did you know that the three All-Star Resort Hotels have been receiving top-to-bottom resort renovations? There is some scheduled work to be done on the Calypso Pool that is supposed to start right after your visit. But not to worry because if they start that redo early, your family is welcome to swim in any of the pools at the other two All-Star Resorts during this time. Here's a link to the pool options at
Disney's All-Star Movies and here's
Disney's All-Star Sports.
I hope this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Joselyne, and if you have any more Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
