Hi there Shirley!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for bringing us your question. At the Disneyland Resort there are two separate theme parks located just footsteps apart. There is
Disneyland Park which is the original theme park that started it all and also
Disney California Adventure Park which is the newer park of the two. Each offer many attractions, themed lands, entertainment, nighttime spectaculars, and fantastic dining options.
When you purchase your
Disneyland Resort theme park tickets, you first choose how many days you will be visiting the parks and then if you want to visit one of these theme parks per day or have the ability to hop between them throughout the day. With a 1 Park Per Day Ticket, you can only enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park each day your ticket is valid. You will still have in and out privileges if you need to leave the park at anytime but you must return back to the same park. The following day you can return to the same park as the day before or the other park that you did not visit. With a Park Hopper Ticket you can travel back and forth between the parks as many times as you wish throughout the day. Since the parks are so close together, we always choose Park Hopper Tickets. For example, we may start our morning in Fantasyland in Disneyland Park, spend the afternoon in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park, then head back to Disneyland Park later for fireworks.
I hope this helps, and please return with any other questions. Have a magical day!
