I have dietary restrictions due immunocompromising medicine from a kidney transplant. Food must either be pre-packaged or heated to 165 (to kill bacteria). Are there alternative food options on the Wild Africa Trek tour?

    Jambo Wells!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for stopping by to ask us this question. As a big fan of Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Wild Africa Trek myself, I am so glad that you decided to sign up for this incredible experience! The Wild Africa Trek truly adds so much to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I cannot wait for you to make incredible memories that will last a lifetime.

One of my favourite things about the Walt Disney World Resort is that all Guests can experience the Disney magic regardless of their backgrounds or origins. Similarly, Guest safety is always prioritized so that you can have a worry-free vacation, which includes food safety. For any and all requests about food allergies, I highly recommend that you reach out to the special dietary team via email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. Indeed, once you have booked your reservation or other dining reservations,  I suggest reaching out to them as they will be able to help and make accommodations for you. If you have other dining reservations at restaurants, you will also be able to ask to speak to the chef in person and they will be happy to discuss these accommodations with you.

Now, Wells, have you seen the news? Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is finally returning to the Walt Disney World Resort, and there is no better way to ring in the holiday season! These special ticketed events are perfect for making your vacation extra magical as they include festive fireworks, a parade, a castle show, and unique character meet and greets that are unavailable during regular theme park hours. Plus, what could possibly be more magical than snow slowly falling on Main Street USA? Like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, allergy-friendly treat locations are available, so I highly suggest picking up a map and keeping an eye on Disney Parks Blog for a list of these locations. In addition, you will be able to experience some of your favourite attractions with holiday overlays and lower wait times since tickets are subject to availability! Since these events can be quite popular, I highly recommend purchasing your tickets soon as they may sell out.

I hope this was helpful, Wells, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out. We are always happy to help fellow Wilderness Explorers!

    Have a magical day,
