Hi, Jessica! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I have been living a ketogenic/low carb lifestyle for the past year or so, and I thought that my Walt Disney World Resort vacations would be diet disasters- boy, was I (thankfully) wrong!
When it comes to Quick Service Restaurants, I have found that many will substitute your side of fries for a salad or even steamed fresh vegetables. My favorite place to do this is
Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom Park, but the
Disney Parks Blog also wrote an article on 10 Healthful Choices at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort that you might want to check out!
In Epcot, my go-to is
Sunshine Seasons which actually offers many fresh fruits and veggies that you might find growing in the Living with the Land greenhouse, talk about fresh!
Every Disney Theme Park Quick Service restaurant will offer some form of healthy option(s). Something that I found on my last trip was the No Sugar Added Brownie from Electric Umbrella in Epcot. I found it late on my last trip and I plan on finding out if they are offered anywhere else on my next vacation because they were delicious!
My number one tip when it comes to eating healthy at Walt Disney World Resort, whether is be at a Quick Service or Table Service meal, is to always ask. It could be for dressing on the side, a burger without a bun, a healthier or sugar-free dessert option, asking won’t hurt! The most difficult part is passing up all of those yummy treats while the rest of your family devours them!
Bon appetit!
Jen
