Bonjour Damon! I'm so happy you've chosen to
be our guest at planDisney.
I know planning meals with a little one can be confusing. While visitors under 3 are not required to purchase theme park tickets, they do count as a member of your party for the purpose of dining reservations. To make sure they're included with your group, you'll need to modify your existing reservations, and I'll explain how to make this happen. My family and I are headed to Walt Disney World in just a few days, and we've had a few last-minute additions to our crew. I've been as busy as Mrs. Potts preparing for a dinner party trying to maneuver our dining plans!
On the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, click on "My Plans" from the menu, and scroll down to select a reservation you'd like to modify. When the reservation details appear, you should see an option to "Modify" on the right-hand side of your screen. Click on this, and you'll have the opportunity to search for availability for the new party number. If you don't find anything initially, keep checking. You still have several weeks before your trip, and things open up as Guests' plans change.
If you're using the
Walt Disney World website, select "My Plans" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu. Click on the "Change Reservation" option to the right of each of your reservations to go through the same process I described for the app. Again, if you don't find availability at first, check back periodically for openings. Guests with
vacation packages are subject to a 30-day cancelation deadline, so I tend to have the best luck about a month out, and sometimes just a few days before. I'll wish upon a star that things work out for you, Damon!
If you don't find what you're looking for, consider checking for
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability on the My Disney Experience Mobile App during your trip. A few of my panelist pals and I used this in the spring, and we were pleased with the results. We managed to secure a table for six one day for a midday meal at the
Magic Kingdom Park! We did find more availability at lunch than at dinner, so I recommend trying for your highest priority meals early in the day. Best wishes for a memorable vacation, and if there's anything else we can do before you go, don't hesitate to reach out again.
Bon appétit!
