Hi Haley,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by to bring us your question.
Oh no… a stomach virus interrupting a Walt Disney World vacation is definitely not the kind of “surprise” any family hopes for. I’m so sorry your crew missed out on that final park day. As a mom, I know how quickly plans can change when somebody gets sick, and honestly, staying back to rest was absolutely the right call.
The good news is that, in many cases, wholly unused standard
theme park tickets retain their value and may sometimes be applied toward future ticket purchases. However, partially used tickets (like a 4-Day ticket with only one remaining unused admission) are a little trickier and typically are not automatically extendable once the valid use window expires.
That said, I would absolutely encourage you to contact
Existing Tickets directly and explain the situation. While changes and extensions are never guaranteed, Cast Members are often the best source for reviewing your specific ticket details and exploring whether any options may be available. If you purchased vacation protection or booked through a travel provider, it may also be worth checking those terms as well.
Haley, before calling, make sure you have your ticket confirmation numbers and travel dates handy to make the process easier. You can also check your ticket details in the
My Disney Experience app under “My Tickets & Passes.”
I sure hope everyone is feeling much better now, Haley, and I’m sending a little extra pixie dust your family’s way in hopes that another Disney day is still waiting for you down the road!
Emille
