Hi Diane, We have booked our hotels, air tickets but dont know the best way to do the theme parks? our travel dates are aug 19-25th my kids are 10 & 7- also one more Q I cannot sit in any rides dry or water do i still need tickets to enter the theme p

Hi Naina, thanks for your question - it's always fun to hear from CT folks!   Unfortunately, you will need to have a ticket to enter a theme park, even if you don't go on any of the attractions.

You are traveling during a very hot time but don't worry, it's manageable - I have conquered this many times in the past!  My best tips would be start very early in the day.  Check the park calendars to see what time the parks open and try to be at the park by that time so you can get a good jump on the attractions before it gets too hot.  If there are extra magic hours, take advantage of that.  For example, Magic Kingdom will open one hour early on 8/18 (8:00 a.m.) so you may want to consider going to Magic Kingdom this day.

By mid-day, the kids will probably need a break from the heat.  It will be a great time to have lunch somewhere in the air condition or head back to your resort for a refreshing swim.  Once rested and the temperatures start to cool a bit, you can go back to the same park (if you have base tickets) or you can got to any other theme park (if you have hopper tickets).

One thing about  Florida in August is you can expect pop-up rain storms.  Be sure to carry a poncho with you at all times.  If you see lightning, take it very seriously and get indoors.  You'll also want to stay hydrated so make sure you drink plenty of fluids and take breaks as needed.  The kids may enjoy using a misting fan - you can purchase one at Target or Walmart and bring with you or you can purchase one in the park (albeit more expensive).

Unfortunately I have limited space here so if you have additional questions, please let us know!  Diane
