Diane, thanks for the answer about watching fireworks at the Contemp. beach. I'm wondering if California Grill is also an option. Wishes is at 9. Dinner at 8 would be too late for us & cut into touring time - can we make a reservation just to have dess

    Hello again Meredith!

Thank you for the follow-up question.  I don't think California Grill (CG) will be the best option for you.  CG is a signature restaurant with a business casual dress code.  It might be hard to adhere to the dress code after a day at the Magic Kingdom (assuming you'll be in shorts, t-shirts, etc.).

I have not had the opportunity to eat at CG but I did ask my fellow panelists their thoughts and overwhelmingly the response was it's hard enough to get a dinner reservation at CG, let alone a reservation for dessert only.  In addition, one of the moms pointed out that even if you have a reservation, it can sometimes take up to an hour to be seated so you couldn't guarantee your timing.

If you're re-thinking your plan to watch Wishes from the Contemporary beach, you may want to visit the the 4th floor of the Contemporary (where the shops and arcade are located).  There are windows where you can watch the fireworks if you prefer to be indoors.  The only caution I have for this idea is there are nights where the Contemporary will have private parties and section this portion of the 4th floor off.

I hope this helps.  Diane  :)
