Hi Diane, been asking you questions for a year and now we are only 76 days away from our Xmas trip:) 2 more questions: If we are going to send a package, how far in advance is TOO far? And do we need to make a reservation to see Santa OR Santa "Goof

    Hi Ryan,

It's always fun to get a question from you!  I feel like I know your family, and I'm thrilled that you are going to get to experience the magic of the holidays, Disney style!

I've only sent packages to my resort a couple of times, but generally, a week in advance works for us.  However, it is the holidays, and I'm sure this is your biggest concern too.  You want to make sure your packages get to the resort, but you don't want them to arrive too early.  I can't give you an exact date, but I would think that 10 business days prior to your vacation should be plenty early.

Also, you'll want to ship UPS or FedEx, not USPS.  I'm not 100% certain, but I've heard that the postal service doesn't recognize street names in WDW, just a central mailing location (I don't know if that's true or just a rumor, but why chance it?).  UPS will deliver directly to the resort.  Be sure to include: your name, c/o the resort, resort address, your arrival date.

As far as seeing Santa or Santa Goofy, you don't need to make reservations.  Santa can be found near City Hall in the Magic Kingdom and in Downtown Disney.  I've seen Santa Goofy in the Magic Kingdom as well.  The easiest way to find him would be to ask a cast member; they can give you the location of any character at any given time.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
