    Hi Diane -- we arrive in May and can't wait......our children are 8,7 and 2........we know that our 8 & 7 yr olds will want to buy everything in sight :-) We are thinking about giving them gift cards so they can budget thieir funds......other ideas??

    Hello, Eileen! Welcome to the Moms Panel! I am so EXCITED to hear about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I am sure your "little ones" are thrilled, so let's get started! You are certainly on the right track as far as keeping your children on a budget. This is always a suggestion that I like to pass on to our guests. We just recently started using the Disney Gift Cards for our boys. They are much older now than your children and they understand the concept of how a gift card works. Usually, smaller children think as long as they have that little plastic card, everything can be bought and the money NEVER runs out. When our boys were younger, we always gave them Disney Dollars. This way, they were able to hand over their money when they were purchasing items and they were able to see their money dwindle away. They became a lot more careful about the purchases they made. Handing their Disney Dollars over made them really think about what gifts were a "must have" as opposed to a "just for the moment" purchase. You can pick-up Disney Dollars at Guest Services in any of the themes parks. Try your Walt Disney World Resort as well. Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel.
