Welcome back to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Deborah!
As you tour Walt Disney World and enjoy your Advanced Dining Reservations, it's smart to consider how you'll use entitlements on a
Disney Dining Plan, especially considering your daughter's condition.
While the children's Dining Plan entitlements may only be used for Disney Dining Plan Guests ages 3-9, there are some ways that you can make this plan work for your family. First, at 13, your daughter may appreciate the greater variety of choices she'll have while dining on the adult Dining Plan; many menus feature lighter fare for those who don't want larger meals. Take a look at the menus of the restaurants for which you have
Advanced Dining Reservations and see what items your daughter might like to try. She may have help finishing her delicious choices!
Also consider looking for sides that are portable, such as salad or fruit, and asking for them to be packaged to go. Anyone in your family may enjoy a light snack at a later point in your stay, especially since all Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms feature a mini-fridge or full-sized fridge. Someone may get hungry when it's not mealtime, and you'll be all set.
We've found that WDW Cast Members are very knowledgeable, and can make suggestions for accommodations when dining. When you are at your ADRs, ask your servers if there are things that can be substituted that the whole family can share, such as enjoying a side of fries as an appetizer or swapping out one portion of a meal for something that can be packaged up to-go. CMs are proud of their restaurants and know their options well, so go ahead and ask what can be customized for you.
Send more questions as you plan your stay, Deborah; we love to help!
