Hi I've been to DFL several times. I have never gone on a holiday. We will be there July 4th this year. What are fire works or light show like?

    Hi Billie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s so great to hear from you again!

I have been lucky enough to get to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort during Independence Day. I was quite a bit nervous as I had heard that it can get quite crowded. I also wasn’t sure what to expect. I have watched the Live Streams on the Disney Parks Blog and knew just how awesome the fireworks displays were online, but wow I wasn’t prepared for just how fantastic they were in person!

“Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at Magic Kingdom Park has traditionally been offered on both July 3 and July 4. This was my favorite display. There are perimeter fireworks meaning that wherever you look you will see an amazing display. There are also many entertainment options offered around the park. I personally found that July 3 was more manageable from a crowd perspective. In the past at EPCOT, there has also been “The Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks extravaganza following their nighttime spectacular. This also brought tears to my eyes as the music and display was breathtaking. Again, there has been other special offerings at EPCOT such as The Voices of Liberty and special Disney character meet and greets with the characters decked out in their best patriotic attire.

To make the most of your visit, I would recommend making your FastPass+ selections prior to your visit. I also highly recommend making advance dining reservations as well.

I think that spending Independence Day at the Walt Disney World Resort is an incredible experience! Be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog for all the most up to date offerings for this special celebration. I hope that you have as much fun as I did!
