    what determines if you will pay $15 or $35.99 for the character dining?

    Hello Alyssa!

         Character dining in Walt Disney World is a true dining experience!  My son and I love mixing and mingling with all the wonderful Disney characters while we eat our meal.  You get quality one-on-one character interaction without waiting in a line in a Theme Park, plus you get to eat great food too!  Some character dining opportunities are buffet where you serve yourself and at others you order off a menu.  It appears that you are referring to a buffet character dining by the fixed prices that you list in your question. The buffet prices are based on whether you are considered a child (ages 3 to 9 years old) or an adult (10 years old and older).  So if your age falls with in what is considered an adult, you will have to pay the adult price for your meal.  Keep in mind that the character dining buffet prices will be different for different restaurants.
