Ahoy there, Andrew! Welcome aboard planDisney! Great name, I'm sure you get compliments about it all the time, right? Me too.
Anyway, I'm excited to know you'll be making a stop in Grand Cayman on your Caribbean itinerary next year. Seven Mile Beach is world-famous for a reason - the sparkling water, the endless sand, and the memories you'll make there will stay with you for a while!
The Coral Beach Club on Seven Mile Beach Port Adventure is a popular way to get to experience Seven Mile Beach, and while I haven't personally booked that Port Adventure, I have some close friends who have. According to this first-hand account, chairs are reserved for each person, and the cabana upgrade cost them $375 for a group of four. As always, prices are subject to change, so I suggest you inquire as to the availability and cost as soon as you arrive.
Another thing to remember is while all the beaches themselves on Grand Cayman are public to the waterline, businesses like Coral Beach Club and resorts do have private property directly adjacent to the beach, and I mean just steps to the sand! You'll see no shortage of "private property" signs showing you exactly where the public beach access ends.
And here are two final "planDrew-approved" tips:
- Depending on how many cruise ships are scheduled to anchor off the coast of Grand Cayman the day you visit, you may find many of the beaches extremely crowded - Coral Beach Club included. As of this writing, the Cayman Island Port Authority only shows the Disney Fantasy in port that day, so it looks like you're in luck!
- Parts of Seven Mile Beach have suffered a fair bit of erosion in the past few years from recent hurricanes, so don't be surprised if you see barricades and erosion-stopping fences right near your beach chairs. If that will put a damper on your day, you may want to consider a different Port Adventure!
While I'm usually found 100 feet under the water SCUBA diving when I head to George Town, I hope I've helped you set a course for adventure on land, Andrew! Thanks so much for your question, and if you have any others as you continue planning, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
All ashore that's going ashore!
Andrew
