Welcome back to planDisney, Kristen! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. It's a smart idea to think about this before your trip if you need receipts for budgeting or reimbursement, so I'm happy to break it down for you.
When you check out of your
Disney Resort Hotel, you'll receive a copy of your room folio by email that morning, and you can also view it in the
My Disney Experience app under your resort reservation. It's super handy and gives a nice overview of everything that was charged to your room during your stay. That includes purchases at restaurants, shops, and other experiences where you used your
MagicBand to charge things back to your room.
However, it's good to know that while your room folio is detailed in terms of listing where you made each charge and for how much, it doesn't break down each item you purchased. So, for example, if you had dinner at
Sanaa and charged it to your room, your folio would just show the total charge for that transaction. It won't list that you ordered the Bread Service and the Butter Chicken while your friend got the Lentil Soup. It will just show something like "Sanaa - $82.50."
So if you need receipts that list every item you purchased, especially for meals or if you're tracking expenses line-by-line, I definitely recommend holding onto your printed receipts from restaurants and merchandise locations. You can always ask for a printed copy at the time of purchase, and a Cast Member will be happy to provide one for you.
Long story short: your room folio is great for reviewing total charges and locations, but for full itemized receipts, it's best to hang onto the ones you get at the time of purchase. Better safe than sorry!
Have a magical day, Kristen!
