I am so desperate to grab a reservation for breakfast or brunch at Storytellers Cafe between the 25th and 28th December, and I’ve gone to book within the 60 days, and no availability is showing. Any ideas why?

Hi Christopher! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a really great choice for breakfast. I understand your wanting to secure that reservation for Character Dining as soon as possible. Enjoying our meal while meeting Characters is my family's preferred way to interact with Characters. And the setting at the hotel is really festive at that time of year.

While dining reservations typically operate on a 60-day window, they can sometimes open earlier or later. Don't give up! Keep checking. Since it's a must-do for your family, I'd suggest checking each day. Set a reminder for yourself on your mobile device. And even if your preferred date or time isn't available when it does open up, keep checking. People's plans do change, which can result in availability even 24 hours out.

There are a couple of other options you can explore just in case. Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel is an iconic Character Dining buffet experience, where Goofy and his friends will meet you, while you dine on yummy options. During your preferred dates, Goofy and his friends will be in their festive attire and the festive dining options are sure to please every belly in the group. There are both breakfast and dinner options, subject to availability. I think it's a really good option outside of the parks. At Disneyland Park, you can dine at breakfast with Minnie and her friends, while enjoying a gorgeous view of Sleeping Beauty Castle and the opulence of Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. at Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park. Enjoy the Mickey waffles and the charm of your setting as well as a big hug from Minnie!

There will be other festive treats you want to indulge in during your visit. Disney Eats is the official source for all food news associated with the parks. Check it out so you can have your must-eat list ready to go. There are Foodie Guides available for the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort and the Disney Festival of the Holidays at Disneyland Resort. I want a Christmas Tree Cone at Cozy Cone Motel 2 in Cars Land! But I'm a real peppermint devotee. Maybe a festive churro option will call to you. Can't ever go wrong there.

    I hope this helps!
