Are the designated handicap viewing areas for the fireworks & parades for wheelchair use only or are ECV's allowed as well? Upcoming trip with my 83 year old mother who fervently believes WDW is the most magical place in the universe. Thanks, Mike

Hello Michael. I feel just about the same as your mother, Walt Disney World really is a magical place!

Don't you just love how accessible Walt Disney World make things for all Guests? I sure do! My daughter recently broke her foot, so during our last few trips she's been in a wheel chair. I've been in awe over how easy it's been to get around, on and off attractions and make sure she can see the parades and firework shows from the designated handicap viewing areas.  Speaking of, the designated handicap viewing areas are open to wheel chairs and electric conveyance vehicles. These areas are on a first-come, first-serve basis so I do suggest showing up early as space is limited.  Parties larger than six may be asked to separate during the show to allow for more wheel chairs and electric conveyance vehicles in this area. If you don't already have an electric conveyance vehicle that you're bringing with you, you can rent one for your mother at all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks and Disney Springs.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
