Is the desert & VIP seating worth doing for star wars fireworks?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alicia!

My family attended the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party last year, and we loved it! We planned a full day of Star Wars fun for my son's birthday, and the dessert party was the perfect "icing on the cake" for our out-of-this world day.

During the party, we were able to meet Kylo Ren and Chewbacca twice each, make several trips through the food and drink buffet, and explore the Star Wars Launch Bay. There were some tasty desserts, and my husband and I enjoyed the Star Wars themed cocktails. We really liked the VIP seating area – on the night we attended, everyone at the party sat down on the ground, so we were comfortable and had an incredible view, with no tall people obstructing the young padawans' ability to view the projections and fireworks. I can't guarantee that will happen for you, but we were so grateful for that. You're also able to bring some beverages out for the show, which is a nice touch, and there's a fun parting gift and a keepsake VIP party ID tag.

We thought the dessert party was worth the cost, and made some spectacular memories. Part of that, though, is because we were looking for a special birthday experience for our Star Wars loving son. If you're not huge Star Wars fans, and aren't celebrating, you'll want to weigh the value. It's certainly possible to find a great viewing location for the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks about an hour ahead of show time, and you could pick up some great treats from Trolley Car Café to enjoy during the show. It's really a personal decision – with so many Enchanting Extras available, you might find that you'd rather spend that extra money on Early Morning Magic, Disney After Hours, a special tour, or a dessert party in another theme park.

May the Force Be With You as you decide which magical experience is right for your family. No matter which choice you make, I know you are going to have the best time this summer at Walt Disney World! Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you do your planning and Disney dreaming.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
