Hi Derek! My husband and I are staying at POR Jan '14 (2nd anniv ) and want to use garden grocer. Should I call before our trip? I'm assuming I have to be at POR when it arrives, right? Also, can we buy a refillable mug when we don't have the DDP? Thanks!

    Hi Allison,

Thank you so much for sending your question my way. I really appreciate it!

Wait a second...where are my manners? I also need to wish you a Happy Anniversary! I can't think of a better place to celebrate such an important occasion!

With respect to your question about grocery delivery services, I would definitely snag an available slot as soon as possible. I've heard that they'll turn guests away if all available slots are taken for a particular day.

As for scheduling your delivery - you are correct in that you should plan it for a day that you'll already be there. Unfortunately, the cast members don't have the ability to safely store groceries for extended periods of time.

You also mentioned that you've been scoping out the new Rapid Fill refillable mugs. When I first heard that this technology was coming, I was blown away! The word on the street is that they're online now at Disney's Port Orleans Resort.

Even though you won't be participating in the Disney Dining Plan, you can still purchase these mugs for either single-day or multiple-day usages. If you're planning to visit for more than a few days, then the length-of-stay option will certainly be your best value!

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

As soon as I saw that you'll be staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort, I made a mental beeline to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for some beignets and a cappuccino. If you haven't already discovered these little beauties, then definitely add them to your list of must-do experiences for your vacation!

(Yes, I consider a beignet/cappuccino combo to be a bone fide Disney experience!)

I hope that answered your questions! Please feel free to write back if you should have any additional questions and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
