For Derek. You just answered my transportation time question. But what happens if you arrive at the park way before it opens?

    Hi Liza!

Thanks for writing back! Great question about timing your travel in the morning hours.

It's been my experience that it's a little easier to get where you're going in the morning hours. Since I'm an early bird, this suits me just fine! So, your wait time and travel time may be a little less than you otherwise would experience during the day.

If you find that you've still arrived a bit too early, despite ratcheting back your conservative travel time estimates, it'll be okay. Here are a few reasons why:

    1) As one of the first guests to enter the theme park, you'll experience short wait times on the most popular attractions. For some of them, you may be able to just walk on with no wait at all.

    2) The animals at Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney's Animal Kingdom are the most active first thing in the morning, so the first guests to experience this attraction get the most bang for their buck.

    3) If you want to snag a FASTPASS for uber-popular attractions like Soarin' in Epcot or Toy Story Midway Mania in Disney's Hollywood Studios without blocking your ability to get another FASTPASS for hours, you can pull it off by being one of the first guests to lock them down.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

If you're like me, and think of dining experiences as being just as important as the attractions and shows at Walt Disney World, the early bird catches the worm for the popular restaurants as well. If you would like to snag a reservation for later that day, camp out at the restaurant as soon as it opens and ask for a walk-up reservation. There's no guarantee, but many of the restaurants keep a small number of tables open each day for walk-ups.

I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back with any other questions you may have because I love talking shop when it comes to Walt Disney World!!

    Best regards,
