Hello, Lela!
I'm glad that I can answer two of your questions. It's a good idea to figure out all of the different components for boarding your Disney Cruise before it is time to sail the high seas.
I completely understand wanting everything to go smoothly on embarkation day, and I hope this information helps you feel more comfortable with the process. Parking at either Port Canaveral or Port Everglades is rarely an issue in my experience, and there is usually plenty of space available when arriving for a Disney Cruise. As my buddy
Adrianna pointed out, Port Arrival Times are also spaced out throughout the day, which keeps traffic moving and prevents long lines as Guests check in. It all works together to make the start of your vacation feel relaxed and easy!
If you would like more details about parking, take a look at either the
Port Canaveral or the
Fort Lauderdale departure pages, depending on where you are sailing from. In the unlikely event that you run into any parking issues when you arrive, just speak with a Cast Member or port staff to guide you in the right direction. They are wonderful at helping Guests get where they need to go!
Once you are onboard, grab lunch and then take some time to wander and explore the ship. There is so much to see and do! Since it may be a few hours before your stateroom is ready, be sure to pack anything you will need that first day in your carry-on luggage, such as medications,
unopened wine or beer that meets the requirements, and swimsuits. My family sometimes wears our bathing suits under our clothes so we can dive into the fun as soon as the pools open!
Lela, thank you again for contacting planDisney. Wishing you a vacation filled with wonderful memories!
Happy sailing!
Jen
