Ahoy, Gilbert!
How exciting that you’ll soon be sailing aboard the Disney Magic! This ship holds a special place in my heart, as its smaller size makes for a more intimate, magical experience. Fewer crowds at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay? Yes, please! Let’s dive into your questions so you can set sail with confidence.
Good news: You’re
allowed to bring two bags per person, and there’s no weight or size limit! While that might sound like a dream for over-packers, remember that storage space in your stateroom is limited. Disney stateroom beds are raised, so you can store your luggage underneath. However, squeezing eight full-sized suitcases under there might feel like a Disney challenge no one asked for!
When your cruise is just around the corner, you’ll receive luggage tags in the mail—two for each Guest. If they don’t arrive in time (it happens), don’t stress! Blank luggage tags will be available at the port. Just jot down your name and stateroom number, and you’ll be good to go.
More good news! Yes, you’re welcome to bring soda onboard, but it must be in your carry-on luggage. If you decide not to pack your own, Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of
complimentary soda options available 24/7 at the beverage stations located on the pool deck. Here’s a sampling of what’s typically available (subject to change):
- Coca-Cola Classic
- Diet Coke
- Coke Zero
- Sprite
- Fuze Unsweetened Iced Tea
- Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade
- Vitamin Water (Acai-Blueberry-Pomegranate)
- Soda Water
- Apple, Orange, and Cranberry Juice (found at Cabanas)
For water lovers, filtered water is also available, so I always bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated both onboard and during Port Adventures.
This is an important one! Only MagicBand+ or
Disney Cruise Line’s DisneyBand+ will work onboard. If your current MagicBands aren’t the “plus” models, they won’t be compatible with the ship’s system.
If you choose not to purchase DisneyBand+, no worries! You can still rely on your trusty
Key to the World card. It’s your golden ticket for everything onboard—making purchases, unlocking your stateroom, and embarking/disembarking at ports of call. We’ve done several cruises using just the Key to the World card, and it works perfectly!
With these details packed and ready to go, you’ll be all set for smooth sailing on the
Disney Magic. I hope you have an incredible time soaking up the onboard entertainment, savoring delicious dining experiences, and, of course, enjoying those breathtaking ocean views.
Fair winds, calm seas, and a whole lot of Disney magic await! Remember: Life’s better when you “just keep swimming” toward new adventures. Safe travels!
Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
Dustin
